In the spirit of Christ’s healing ministry, Alverno Laboratories continually improves the delivery of quality diagnostic data and laboratory services to our partners and caregivers. Our commitment advances the health, wellness and continuity of care in the communities we serve.
Alverno leads and grows through innovative partnerships, cutting edge technology, informatics, and creative people.
Alverno Laboratories was established in 1999 as Alverno Clinical Laboratories, Inc. as an integrated laboratory network of six hospitals. In 2005, the joint venture between Franciscan Alliance and Provena Health established us as one of the first integrated networks serving two distinct healthcare systems with 18 hospitals, creating Alverno Clinical Laboratories, LLC. In 2008, Resurrection Healthcare joined the network to expand our coverage to 26 hospital laboratories, becoming Professional Clinical Laboratories, LLC.
Today we are known as Alverno Laboratories, returning to our Alverno faith based heritage. After two decades, we continue to adapt, grow, and achieve excellence. Our new logo emphasizes the diverse and expert staff, without which we would not be the success we are today.
Innovation with a Vision
Today, Alverno Laboratories believes in “innovation with a vision.” As the first U.S. Beckman Coulter Microbiology Innovation Center, we are the leaders in microbiology innovation, improving blood culture turnaround times. We have pioneered sophisticated tools and automated technology, such as CellaVision®, which simplify testing procedures. This allows us to remain community-focused, providing patients with results sooner and saving lives in the process. We measure our success not by the number of tests we perform, but how many patient lives we touch.
Alverno is an award-winning laboratory. In 2014 we received the Chanute Prize for Team Innovation. We were also named Laboratory of the Year by ADVANCE Healthcare Network’s For the Laboratory magazine in 2016.
We practice good diagnostic medicine and deliver high-quality, non-urgent testing services, including:
- Flow Cytometry
- Genetic Testing
- Allergy Testing
- Pain Management
